Havre Police Department Officers assisted Cascade County law enforcement after they called Monday at 11:27 a.m. for assistance looking for a runaway. Anjelica Open Eyes Denny of Box Elder, 34, was arrested on charges of burglary to a residence, partner or family member assault, assault and criminal mischief vandalism and on two Justice or City court warrants after Denny called Monday at 12:45 p.m. asking for assistance for an assault on Second Street. The City of Prince Albert has announced various current and future road and lane closures happening in the community.
Until May 17, First Avenue from 17th Street to 18th Street West will be closed as city crews will be digging to replace a water main.
Starting today, the City closed a lane on Second Avenue West at the intersection of Marquis Road until May 20 for concrete work.
Also just for today until 4:30 p.m., there will be lane restrictions on the Central Avenue viaduct so crews can clean salt off the concrete.
Starting Friday at 8:30 a.m. there will be lane restrictions on the CN bridge and Shellbrook overpass to clean the bridge.
PRINCE ALBERT Red Dress Day is bittersweet for Krista Fox. She’s a close friend of missing woman Ashley Morin’s family and a Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) advocate. While the fifth of May is another day to spread awareness about the issue, it also unlocks a lot of hurt. “Everybody’s sharing, and we want that. We want Ashley’s face out there, but the pain that comes along with it is really tough,” said Fox through tears. Morin, who is from Ahtakakoop Cree Nation west of Prince Albert, was last seen in North Battleford on July 10, 2018. RCMP is investigating her case as a homicide.
(West Fargo, ND) The City of West Fargo has rescheduled COLOR FEST from Saturday, April 17th, to Saturday, May 8th, due to weather conditions.
The event will take place 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Attendees will join three local artists to paint Sheyenne Street from Second Avenue West to Fourth Avenue West at the event.
The three selected artists for COLOR FEST are Nicole Gagner, Leigh Nelson and Lesley Buegel.
Event attendees will not only be able to watch the artists work but they will also be able to assist the artists in painting their designs. The City of West Fargo will supply all paint and materials. The artwork will remain on the road until it is removed for the area’s reconstruction project in phase 2 and 3.
