The species is dropping in numbers across a wide range of the regionâs rivers, biologists are stumped as to the cause, and a looming summer of drought is putting on the heat. Itâs all hands on deck, and the experts are out for solutions.
âWhile we try to figure out what s really the root cause of this, we should certainly be doing something. Rain or shine, this 75-year-old man, Minor Carter, walks about 20-plus miles a day.
