No injuries were reported. An officer was in the parking lot of the old Sears store at Rice Street and University Avenue when she heard a loud explosion nearby and saw billowing smoke shortly before midnight. She and other officers followed it to Ravoux Street, off Marion Street, and found the remnants of an explosive device.
