Pueblo West Metro District Board narrows search for new home base The Pueblo West Metro Board on Monday unanimously agreed to sell one of its properties and look into financing options for a new civic center office building. In November, the board voted 3-2 against the sale of 24 residential lots along East Cabaret Drive at $5,000 per lot to Ridgemark Homes due to Ridgemark s lack of a timeline on buildout of the lots. Monday, district Economic Development Specialist Tyler Purvis presented a resolution to sell a multifamily residence lot at 453 S. Clarion Drive, once again to Ridgemark. Ridgemark made a full-price offer for the property at $10,000 with a standard sales contract, and the board agreed unanimously without further discussion.

Pueblo West restaurants adapt to serve through COVID-19 pandemic

Beginning Jan. 4, restaurants in Pueblo County and many other Colorado counties were allowed to resume in-house dining at 25% capacity with no more than 50 people, leaving Pueblo West restaurants optimistic about the change. “I think people are still kind of scared,” Do Drop Inn co-owner Donna MacFarlane-Franz said. “Weekdays are a little slower than weekends, so I don’t know what will happen this weekend. But it has been good, and the 25% capacity is working so far.” After a spike in coronavirus cases in October, Pueblo County moved on Colorado s COVID-19 Status Dial from Level Orange to Red, which limited restaurants to carryout and delivery service.

A spotlight is on Pueblo and Pueblo West as a new season of “Undercover Billionaire” premiered Wednesday. The series featured on the Discovery Channel follows three entrepreneurs who bet $1 million they can go undercover in three separate cities, start their own business with just $100, and top the million-dollar mark within 90 days. According to the Discovery Channel website, at the end of the journey, the billionaires will reveal their true identities to those who aided in building their business. In Wednesday’s episode, billionaire Grant Cardone  an author, sales and marketing trainer, international speaker and real estate investor, arrived in Pueblo assuming the role of Louis Curtis: a man from Los Angeles who is trying to move his family out of the big city and into Pueblo.

Throughout her journey, she turned to the one thing that has always been there for her: her Christian faith.  The music mogul and brains behind the Mosley Music Group, in partnership with ex-husband Tim “Timbaland” Mosley, left her home in Miami, Florida, to film the new series “Undercover Billionaire: Comeback City” in Takoma, Washington, which premiered on Jan. 6 on Discovery. With only $100 and absolutely no connections or other resources, she was challenged to build a million-dollar business out of $100.
