MDOT to resurface and improve more than 12 miles of M-27

TOPINABEE Beginning July 19, a 12 and one-half mile stretch of M-27 between Topinabee and Cheboygan also known as Straits Hwy will receive a facelift from the Michigan Department of Transportation. This is a mill and resurface, said James Lake, MDOT North Region communications representative. So we ll be grinding off the top surface of the existing pavement and replacing it with a layer of new asphalt.
The work will be from around Chippewa Beach Road north of Indian River north, through Topinabee, to the intersection of M-27 and M-33, just south of the City of Cheboygan in Inverness Township.
