New Delhi: A COVID-19 outbreak left the Indian Premier League on tenterhooks as Kolkata Knight Riders’ Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for the dreaded virus, forcing the postponement of the team’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Ahmedabad this evening.
The match will be rescheduled some time later during the tournament, which will conclude on May 30.
“Varun Chakaravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were found to be positive in the third round of testing in the last four days. All other team members have tested negative for COVID-19,” the league, which features the biggest names in international cricket, said in a press release.

New Delhi, April 30 : In the hope of making the cut for the Tokyo Olympic Games, a 14-member Indian rowing squad, including nine players, boarded a Tokyo-bound flight on Friday to compete in the World Rowing Asia Oceania Continental Olympic and Paralympic Qualifying Regatta.
The competition will be held from May 5 to 7 in Tokyo.
The Indians will start with handicap as Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has prevented them from carrying their own equipment.

Athenry mart has licence suspended due to breach of COVID-19 procedures

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Athenry mart has had its licence suspended due to a breach of COVID-19 regulations.
The Department of Agriculture has confirmed that the licence issued to Athenry mart was suspended last Thursday (April 22nd).
The licence has been suspended due to a breach of a licence condition related to COVID-19 safety procedures.
In a statement to Galway Bay fm news, Department officials state they are in contact with management at the mart in order to progress matters.
Any mart that is currently trading has had its Level 5 COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedure approved by Department officials.
