FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A record-setting athletics year, including to date one NCAA title and 10 Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament championships, has vaulted the University of Arkansas to a No. 9 ranking in the 2020-21 Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup standings released on Thursday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of America (NACDA).
The Directors’ Cup tracks the nation’s most successful intercollegiate athletics programs for their performances throughout the year. The rankings released on Thursday were the first standings published in 2020-21 and reflected fall and winter championship results. Arkansas was one of four SEC programs (Kentucky, Alabama and Florida) ranked in the top-10 in the standings released on Thursday. A total of seven SEC programs are ranked in the top 25 of the current standings.

Shanahan, who joined Johns Hopkins in 2016 and has served as vice provost for student affairs since 2019, will return to her alma mater this summer to lead an athletics department that includes 33 varsity programs
Mollie Marcoux Samaan, Class of 1991, who has served as the University’s Ford Family Director of Athletics since 2014, will be leaving Princeton to join the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) as their ninth commissioner. The University will undertake a national search to identify its next director of athletics.
