Court rules on challenge to MN-S voting rules
A court has dismissed an application by some former Métis leaders challenging changes made to the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan (MN-S) election act.
Métis Nationalist Movement Saskatchewan, which is made up of a number of former MN-S leaders, filed a legal action back in March. They alleged the MN-S violated the organization’s constitution when they mandated that to vote people had to be card carrying members of the MN-S.
The court did not issue a full decision, but instead issued an interim fiat which said it did not feel the MN-S acted unfairly when they passed amendments to the election act making the changes.
