A speeding water tanker ran over a man, on a motorcycle, near Malir Cantonment check-post no 6. As a result, the motorcyclist died on the spot. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. The deceased was identified as Zahid Iqbal, 25, who was a resident of Safoora Goth and worked as a driver at a retired colonel s house in Malir Cantonment. The residents of Safoora Goth gathered at the place of the accident and staged a protest against Iqbal s death. They said their protest will continue till the tanker driver is arrested.
