Peter Ndwiga pulled a fast one on his challengers, winning men s 10,000m race during Day One of the second Athletics Kenya track and field meeting Kasarani Stadium on Friday.
The race attracted 90 athletes in what forced AK to line up three finals.
Ndwiga, who lined up in heat one set the fastest time of 28:42.88 ahead of reigning Africa cross country champion Alfred Barkach (28:43.32) and Vincent Mutai who checked in third in 28:57.04.
Emmanuel Kemboi of Uasin Gishu won the second heat in a slow time of 29:12.99 ahead of Gilbert Kumunyan 29:30.74 and Steve Ngetich (29:32.39).
