A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, has ordered that Iskilu Wakili, the Fulani herder accused to masterminding killings, rape and kidnapping in Kajola in the Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State and his two sons be remanded in prison custody.
The order was delivered by the Chief Magistrate, Emmanuel Idowu, following the arraignment of Wakili, his sons; Abu (45) and Samaila (27) by the police.
They were charged with conspiracy, murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.
The magistrate did not take the pleas of the accused persons for want of jurisdiction in the case.
The court remanded Wakili along his sons, Abu, 45 and Samaila, 27, as well as Aliyu Manu, 20, after charging them with six counts bordering on conspiracy, murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.
Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Idowu, who did not take plea of the suspects for want of jurisdiction, adjourned the matter till May 17.
Idowu ordered the police to return the case file to the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution.

A Chief Magistrate Court in Ibadan, yesterday, remanded the supected kidnap kingpin, Iskilu Wakili, in a correctional facility for alleged murder, conspiracy, kidnapping and armed robbery.
This came on a day residents of Saki and other communities in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State said they now live in palpable fear, following alleged killing of a farmer by suspected Fulani herders at Oke Orogun village, in Saki West local government area of the state.

Suspected kidnapper, Wakili, two sons remanded in prison
Mr Wakili was arrested on March 7 by men of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and other local security groups.

An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ court in Ibadan on Tuesday ordered the remand in a correctional facility a man alleged by residents of Ibarapa in Oyo State to be responsible for a series of kidnappings and killings in the area has been arrested.
The police charged Iskilu Wakili alongside his sons Abu, 45, and Samaila, 27; and Aliyu Manu, 20, with six counts of conspiracy, murder, kidnapping and armed robbery.
