Cloudy weather meanwhile is likely for the city from Saturday onwards. IMD said that a low pressure area is very likely to form over southeast Arabian Sea around May 14 morning. This is very likely to concentrate into a Depression over Lakshadweep area and adjoining Southeast and east central Arabian sea by May 15. It is very likely to move north­ north westwards and intensify further into a cyclonic Storm over east central Arabian sea around May 16 and continue to move north northwest awards for some more time with further intensification, said the IMD in a release.

The city reported a hot Sunday as maximum temperatures were seen soaring to 36.3 degrees Celcius. This was almost a four degree rise compared to a day ago when maximum temperatures were 32.6 degrees. Weathermen said that a rise in the temperatures was forecasted owing to the hot and dry north westerly winds. Last week on February 22 as well the city reported maximum temperatures of 36.3 degree Celsius. Sunday’s maximum temperature equaled the season’s highest maximum temperature as recorded on February 2.
