Tiruchi Collector-cum-District Election Officer S. Divyadarshini said arrangements were in place at all four centres for counting of votes polled in nine constituencies of the district. While votes polled in Tiruchi (East) and TiruchI (West) would be counted at Jamal Mohamed College in TiruchI, Saranathan College of Engineering at Panjappur would be the centre for counting of votes polled in Manapparai and Thiruverumbur constituencies.

Over 1,000 police personnel would be mobilised for deployment at the counting centres as well as at important places all over the district. Two counting centres - K. The exercise begins at 8 a.m. on May 2. It will be taken up as usual in 14 tables in each counting hall for every constituency. The votes polled in Srirangam constituency will be counted in 32 rounds, the maximum for the district, and in Lalgudi in 22 rounds, the least. Votes polled in Manapparai and Tiruverumbur constituencies will be tallied in 30 rounds each. There will be 28 rounds of counting for Tiruchi West, 27 for Tiruchi East, 25 for Manachanallur, 24 for Musiri and 23 for Thuraiyur, Collector and District Election Officer S. Divyadarshini said in a press release.

EVMs shifted to counting centres Updated: Updated: Share Article EVMS kept in a strong room at the counting centre in Tiruchi on Wednresday.   Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) along with the Voters Verifiable Audit Paper Trail (VVPAT) used for polling in various constituencies in the districts were moved from the polling stations to the notified counting centres in different parts of the central region. In Tiruchi district, the EVMs belonging to Tiruchi (West) and Tiruchi (East) constituencies were transported to the counting centre at Jamal Mohammed College in Tiruchi while those from Srirangam, Tiruverumbur and Manapparai constituencies were moved to the counting centre at Saranathan College of Engineering at Panjappur on Tiruchi-Madurai Highway.
