Nine-wicket away win for Gloucestershire Girls U13s

GLOUCESTERSHIRE Girls U13s were in tremendous form in their latest friendly, cruising to a nine-wicket victory away to Worcestershire at Feckenham. The home side, who won the toss, were restricted to 96-8 as Abigail Bryan (3-6 from three), Bella Herring (2-19) and Jennifer Rivers (1-6, both from four) found a good line and length along with Imogen Davies (1-9 from three). There was also a wicket for Megan Ahearn in the hot conditions before Gloucestershire made light work of their target, opener Prarthana Reddy (35 not) and Emily Austen (10 not) sharing an unbroken partnership of 57. Gloucestershire Girls U15s, meanwhile, lost to Wales but then overcame Somerset in back-to-back friendly matches in stifling conditions at Pontarddulais.

Native at Browns restaurant review: can foraged cocktails and grey squirrel lasagne win in Mayfair?

Native at Browns Brook Street  Credit: Bozho Gagovski What’s new?  Behind the scenes Going back in time, Browns’ founder Joan Burstein (‘Mrs B’) famously snapped up John Galliano’s entire graduate collection. Today Browns upholds her reputation for nurturing next-gen talent with the appointment of Imogen Davis and chef Ivan Tisdall-Downes, two of the country’s most original restaurateurs.  In the five years since they launched zero-waste Native, they’ve never failed to surprise, whether serving (ethical) grey squirrel lasagne at their Borough restaurant – the critters could hardly have been more controversial if they’d been clad in bumsters – or upping sticks to Osea Island in Essex as they did last year. Flame-haired Davis, a keener falconer than fashionista, won’t care if you turn up in Jacquemus or John Lewis. Mayfair won’t know what’s hit it.
