Governor Matawalle said that there was no society where peace can reign without justice.
He commended the state Legislative and Judicial arms for maintaining good working relationship with the executive, especially in the state government’s fight against banditry.
The Governor made the commendation while hosting the two arms of government to a Ramadan fast break at his residence, in Gusau the State capital.
He expressed satisfaction over the way the legislators and members of the judiciary support government policies and programmes, especially in the fight against armed banditry and other criminalities in the state.
The Governor further stated that a lot of successes have been recorded by his administration as a result of their support and cooperation, especially over matters that have direct bearing on the people of the State.
The North-West state is one of the regions worst affected by banditry in the country.
According to a statment signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Magaji Dosara on Wednesday, the civil servants were among 35 suspects apprehended in Gusau, the state capital.
“It was surprising to note that, all the 35 suspects were arrested in Gusau, the state capital and some of them civil servants,” the statement said.
“The State Government therefore expressed delight over the arrest of the 35 bandits terrorising people within the Gusau metropolis.”
The criminals “have since been interrogated and have confessed to their various crimes and have already been transferred to Abuja for further action before prosecution.”

Governor Bello Matawalle has appealed to judges not to be lenient with bandits brought before their court saying this is the only way to end the menace which has engulfed the state for decades.
This was even as he commended both the Legislative and Judicial arms for maintaining a good working relationship with the executive especially in the state government’s fight against banditry.

In a statement issued by the Director-General Media, Yusuf Idris Gusau, on Thursday, said the governor had expressed his happiness in the way and manner the legislators and members of the judiciary had supported the government in the fight against armed banditry and other criminalities in the state.
The Zamfara State Government on Saturday said it was criminalising the sale of petroleum products in jerrycans or any other containers in some parts of the state.
The move, the government believes, will help to curb the activities of black marketers linked to bandits in the state.
“In furtherance of the efforts and steps being taken by the government of Zamfara state in tackling the recent upsurge in the activities of recalcitrant bandits in the state, the government found it necessary to ban the activities of petroleum products black marketters in the general area of Wanke, Magami, Dansadau, Dangulbi, Dankurmi, Bindin, Munhaye, Kizarah, kunchin Kalgo and their surroundings with immediate effect, until further notice,” a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, said.

Following acts of terrorism against innocent people carrying out their legitimate businesses in Zamfara, the State Governor, Bello Mohammed Matawalle has ordered for immediate closure of some markets in the State.
The markets include Magami Market in Gusau Local Government Area, Dansadau Market in Maru Local Government Area, Wake weekly market in Gusau, and Dauran Market in Zurmi Local Government Area.
In a press statement signed by the state commissioner for information, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara, the government disturbed by the senseless killings, maiming and general destruction of lives and property of the mostly farming communities had already condoled with the families of the victims of the dastardly act.
