PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has directed the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to respond to three petitions seeking tuition fee concession for private school students during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
A bench consisting of Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan and Justice Syed M Attique Shah fixed April 8 for hearing final arguments on the petitions filed by Iftikhar Hussain and several other parents of private school students seeking directions for the Private Schools Regulatory Authority (PSRA) to ask all private educational institutions to charge only their ‘operational costs’ instead of full tuition fee during the pandemic.
Asks ECP to bring an end to alleged interference of non-political forces in election process

The parliamentary parties have demanded that the polls supervisory body – the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) – bring an end to the alleged interference of non-political forces in the election process.
Representatives of the political parties with presence in parliament on Monday held a meeting at the ECP headquarters on the proposed code of conduct for the upper house elections scheduled for March 3. The ECP gave a detailed briefing to the parties’ representatives on the proposed code.
Submitting their proposals, the political parties demanded harsh punishment for the lawmakers found involved in horse-trading in the election. They also demanded that the Senate elections should be held in a fair, transparent and peaceful manner

SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday pledged that his party will continue its fight against the divisive forces who are hell bent to erode the edifice of social fabric and pluralistic ethos in Jammu and Kashmir.
Bukhari was addressing a joining ceremony at Party office in Lal Chowk Srinagar that witnessed an impressive gathering of political activists from different districts of Kashmir.
On this occasion, various socio-political activists joined the Party. The new entrants to the party included noted social and political activist Agha Syed Abbas Rizvi, Hajira Akhtar BDC Chairperson Singhpora, Shameema Akhtar BDC Chairperson Sangrama, senior political activists Iftikhar Hussain, Ghulam Hassan Dar and Mohammad Rahim Ganai along with scores of political workers.
