A man’s scalp was reportedly left lying in the road after a late-night “machete attack” in Manchester.
Officers were called at around 7.15pm on Wednesday evening to a report of an assault on Birch Lane, Dukinfield.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) today said they believe the man had been assaulted by three other men, one armed with a machete.
The victim, who has not been named, suffered serious head neck and shoulder injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he underwent surgery.

A young man who died following an illegal rave during lockdown had taken a fatal drug overdose an inquest heard. Twenty-year-old Joe Robinson, a customer services agent, tragically passed away on June 14, after attending a gathering at Daisy Nook Country Park in Oldham. Mr Robinson died after he collapsed leaving the rave, which was attended by around 4,000 people.
