INDIANAPOLIS (Inside INdiana Business) State and local officials will Wednesday give details on a new partnership between Ivy Tech Community College and Marian University in Indianapolis. Ivy Tech says the partnership involves the development of a dual admissions program to address Indiana’s teacher shortage.
Ivy Tech President Sue Ellspermann and Marian President Dan Elsener will be joined by Indiana Secretary of Education Katie Jenner, Indiana Commissioner of Higher Education Teresa Lubbers and others for the announcement.
The announcement will take place at Southport High School in Indy. We’ll have more on the partnership in Wednesday afternoon’s INside Edge e-newsletter.
Non-Profits Can Apply for Grant Money to Help Hoosier Veterans
INDIANAPOLIS Non-profit organizations can apply for grant money from the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) that will help veterans with a variety of services.
The application period for the Grants for Veterans’ Services (GVS) runs through June 14. Eligible applicants must be a non-profit organization registered with the Indiana Secretary of State and use the money to help veterans in any of the following areas:
-Work to eliminate homelessness
-Provide assistance concerning safe and secure living conditions
-Provide assistance for veterans moving from public housing programs toward home ownership or long-term rental status

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Fitesa, a Brazil-based manufacturer of nonwoven hygiene and health care products, announced plans today to expand its new Indiana operations, creating up to 34 new jobs in Terre Haute by the end of 2022.
“We are delighted that Fitesa, a new member of our local manufacturing community, is making such a significant investment in its Terre Haute facility,” Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett said. “We look forward to working with Fitesa as it grows its local manufacturing footprint.”
The company, which is headquartered in Porto Alegre, Brazil, acquired Terre Haute-based Tredegar Corporation’s personal care films business in November 2020, retaining 113 employees. Sullivan’s Priorities: Bolstering Hoosier Voter Confidence and Refining Voting Centers
STATEWIDE 2020 was a tumultuous year for elections in the United States with confidence in the voting process shaken for many people during a nationwide pandemic.
The pandemic saw more people than ever before voting absentee or even by mail, which sparked a lot of outrage among many Republicans who said the expanded access to mail-in voting opens the door for voter fraud.
This is something new Indiana Secretary of State Holli Sullivan is privy to in having expertise in cybersecurity when it comes to the state’s elections.
“I did carry the bill for the Secretary of State’s office before the 2020 election that enabled and funded the cybersecurity (of elections) that was put in place before the 2020 election in Indiana,” Sullivan told Indy Politics.
