TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Rental assistance is available for Terre Haute residents.
The city has partnered with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority to help provide the support.
The program is through the Indiana Emergency Rental Assistance program.
The program offers up to one year of utility assistance on past due bills between now and April 1 of last year.

INDIANAPOLIS – The state’s Rental Assistance Portal is now accepting applications for the Indiana Emergency Rental Assistance (IERA) program. This program can provide eligible renters with up to 12 months of rental and home/utility assistance.
More information, including the steps for renters to apply both online and over the phone, can be found on the top banner of the indianahousingnow.org website or by calling 2-1-1.
“The Indiana Emergency Rental Assistance (IERA) program is designed to help renters financially-impacted by COVID-19,” said Indiana Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, who serves as board chair of IHCDA. “We are pleased to work with our network of program partners, participating landlords, and home energy/utility providers to continue assisting Indiana renters.”

Gov. Eric Holcomb on Wednesday shared the latest on the state’s response to COVID-19, remaining optimistic about the case trends and number of vaccinations.
The state’s department of health reported 863 new cases on Wednesday, bringing the total to 669,164 since the onset of the pandemic. The update comes following the first mass vaccination clinic hosted over the weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which Holcomb and Indiana health leaders said was flawless.
Here s what was learned on Wednesday:
Number of fully vaccinated people surpassed the number of positive COVID-19 cases reported in the case since March 2020.
More than 16,500 people were vaccinated at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway over the weekend during the mass vaccination clinic.
