Pune: Activist Sharjeel Usmani is likely to appear before the Pune Police for interrogation in connection with an FIR lodged against him for an alleged hate speech he delivered during the Elgar Parishad conclave held on January 30 in Pune.
An FIR was registered against Usmani, an alumnus of the Aligarh Muslim University, by the Swargate police station in Pune on February 2 under Section 153(A) of the Indian Penal Code (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race and so on.

Justice Katju s expert opinion is less than objective: UK Court on Nirav Modi s Extradition

LONDON: Even as the UK s West Minister s Magistrate Court on Thursday cleared the decks for the extradition of fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi in connection with the Rs 13,500 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud case, District Judge Samuel Gooze came down heavily on former Supreme Court Judge Markandey Katju, saying Gooze attached little weight to Katju s expert opinion as it was less than objective and reliable .
