Feb 25, 2021 World War II Army veteran Frank DeRosa celebrated his 100th birthday Tuesday, Feb. 9, with family and a drive-by parade made up of local law enforcement, military and well-wishers at his home in Auburn. After the war, DeRosa founded and operated Red Diamond Taxi with brothers John and Sam. They ran the company for 35 years. Employing 13 people at its height, it was the largest taxi company serving the Auburn area. DeRosa was born and raised in Auburn, the second-oldest of four sons. He was married to his wife, Theresa, for 70 years, and cared for her during the last 20 years of her life prior to her passing in June. Together they raised two children.
