Between January 1 and the end of December 2020, the latest figures show a total of 29,479 patients were removed from the outpatient waiting list as a result of validation. The National Centralised Validation Unit within the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF), advised the Department of Health that the validation of the waiting list process, suspended at the end of March 2020 due to Covid-19, recommenced six months ago at the beginning of August.

Indian community mourns health worker Solson Saviour Updated / Sunday, 24 Jan 2021 22:37 Solson Saviour, who was 34 years old, had worked in nursing homes in Kilkenny and Wexford. He was described by colleagues and by relatives of those he cared for as a gentleman and an angel. He died earlier this month and is survived by his wife Bincy and their three-year-old son Simeon. Bincy, also a healthcare worker, was not able to attend her husband s funeral because she too had tested positive for Covid-19. Solson, Bincy and their son Simeon Vinu Kaipilly became friends with Solson when they worked together at a nursing home in Dublin.
