Others thought it was a UFO.But according to NBC affiliate WAVY in Portsmouth, Virginia, the bright light was a SpaceX satellite launch at 6:01 a.m. Sunday morning. This morning s launch was scheduled to be a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket to launch approximately 60 satellites for SpaceX s Starlink broadband network in a mission designated Starlink 21, according to the Space Calendar on Space.com.The launch happened at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It was originally scheduled for 5:44 a.m., NBC affiliate WRAL reported.Residents in Boonville, Yadkinville and Sparta contacted WXII 12 News to report the mysterious bright light.
