Ravens News 2/2: On the Cusp and more

Strategy to become a Super Bowl contender: The Ravens need to bolster the supporting cast around quarterback Lamar Jackson, from improving the offensive line to adding another top target in the passing game. Baltimore has averaged 30 points per game with Jackson as its starter, but the Ravens have failed to score more than 20 points in any of his four playoff games. The Ravens aren’t going to change their identity of being a dominant running team. Baltimore knows the key from going from Super Bowl contender to a Super Bowl champion means being less one-dimensional in the postseason.

The Buffalo Bills have drafted several players from the Reese’s Senior Bowl under Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane.
In McDermott’s first season with the Bills, Buffalo drafted four players who were on the Senior Bowl rosters: Tre’Davious White, Dion Dawkins, Zay Jones and Nathan Peterman. Beane found two cornerstone players in White and Dawkins.
In 2018, Buffalo was able to get a look at their soon-to-be franchise QB Josh Allen. In addition to Allen, Buffalo also selected Wyatt Teller, Harrison Phillips, Taron Johnson and Siran Neal. Levi Wallace, another Senior Bowl player, was added to the roster after the draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs are AFC Champions for the second consecutive year after defeating the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game by a score of 38-24. Patrick Mahomes had an incredible performance in this game, throwing for 325 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, while fellow second-team All-Pro Josh Allen threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns while running for 88 yards, but Allen threw a back-breaking interception in the red zone in the fourth quarter while it was a two-score game. The Chiefs will play their second consecutive Super Bowl, this time heading to Tampa Bay to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on February 7 for Super Bowl LV. This will be the ultimate moment of Mahomes career, as he will have a chance to defeat Tom Brady, the six-time Super Bowl champion and the only quarterback to hand him a postseason loss to this point in his career.
