On the Republican side locally, Delegate Kathy Byron easily defeated challenger Isaiah Knight in the 22
nd District House of Delegates race. The winner of this primary will face Democrat Greg Eaton in November. The last time a Democrat held the District 22 seat was in 1981. Incumbent Delegate Ronnie Campbell won the nomination in the 24th District. Campbell faced a challenge from fellow Republican Mark Reed.

BAY CITY, MI - Support for local restaurants has a whole new, totally mobile look in the Bay area. A recently created community organization known as Operation Shantyville has been on the move around the region, setting up ice fishing shanties and deer blinds outside of restaurants, allowing people to enjoy an adventurous twist on outdoor dining while providing some much-needed support for local businesses.
BEDFORD â The Bedford County Board of Supervisors spoke out Monday in response to a continued push by some community members pressuring the board to pass a First Amendment sanctuary resolution opposing Gov. Ralph Northamâs emergency executive orders.
Bedford County residents have been coming to board of supervisors meetings since late November urging the board to pass a resolution that would reject Northamâs executive order limiting crowd sizes, among other coronavirus-related measures, saying such an order infringes on First Amendment rights of peaceful assembly.
A few versions of a proposed resolution for Bedford County have circulated since the fall, one based off Bedford Countyâs Second Amendment sanctuary resolution passed last year and another borrowed from a First Amendment sanctuary resolution passed Dec. 1 by the Campbell County Board of Supervisors.
