Latest Dubai COVID-19 compliance checks result in 3 closures

File picture Dubai Municipality inspectors have ordered three establishments to shutdown for failing to adhere to the COVID-19 precautionary measures. A salon in Al Souq Al Khabeer was closed due to overcrowding and a shisha cafe was shut in Al Rigga for the same violation. In addition, a laundry in Karama was ordered to close for violating health and personal hygiene practices. A total of 33 warnings were issued during the checks. The authority said 98 per cent of the 2,442 establishments inspected were found to be in compliance. #DubaiMunicipality strengthened its inspection campaigns on establishments to ensure their commitment to precautionary measures. UAE administers another 62,781 COVID-19 vaccine doses

More than 8.65 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the UAE so far. According to the Ministry of Health and Prevention, 62,781 doses were given in the past 24 hours. The total number of doses stands at 8,659,503 with a distribution rate of 87.55 doses per 100 people.

UAE announces 1,988 new cases of COVID-19, 2,138 recoveries

The UAE has confirmed 1,988 new cases of COVID-19 from 254,944 tests. Another 2,138 people have been given the all-clear, taking the overall recovery tally to 458,885. Meanwhile, four more patients have died, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,516. A total of 474,136 cases have been diagnosed in the UAE so far, out of which 13,735 are currently active.

Abu Dhabi suspends all Ramadan tent permits

All permits for Ramadan tents in Abu Dhabi have been cancelled. In a post on Twitter, the Department of Municipalities and Transport Abu Dhabi said the move is in line with the procedures issued by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority to activate preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic. Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman have issued similar bans during the Holy Month to combat the spread of the virus.
