Police have failed to control accidents due to kite flying in the provincial capital as two more persons were left injured in different incidents in the provincial capital on Tuesday.
This is the third case in a week despite tall claims of a zero-tolerance policy and stern action by the police.
Police said the first case was reported in Ichra. The victim identified as Tariq was riding a motorcycle and going somewhere. As he reached near Muslim Town Flyover, a kite string came in his way. It left a deep cut on his shoulder and the victim fell down on ground. He suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A kiln contractor allegedly tortured a nine-year-old boy to death during forced labour and hid his body in a room near Jhang Road in Thirkriwala.
According to the police report, Rizwan, the nine-year-old son of Ramzan, a labourer working at the kiln of Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Gujjar near Chak No. 241RB Chachanal Walabai Pass, was tortured by Sultan, a contractor, along with his wife Shahnaz Bibi and daughters for making less bricks and was allegedly forced to continue working.
Gogi Butt, 12 others arrested

LAHORE:Lahore police arrested Gogi Butt and 12 other criminals after the police encounter in the limits of Mustafa Town police station on Wednesday.
Mustafa Town police registered a case against Gogi and 12 others under Sections 7ATA, Punjab Arms Ordinance, 337H(2), 149, 148, 216 and 353 PPC, on the complaint of Inspector Mazhar Iqbal of CIA Iqbal Town.
According to details, CIA Iqbal Town police was informed that some hardened criminals were present at the dera of Gogi Butt in Canal View Society, Mustafa Town. Police raided the dera of Gogi Butt who along with his accomplices offered resistance and opened straight fire at the cops. However, the cops escaped unhurt. The raiding team managed to arrest Gogi Butt and his accomplices. The arrested criminals, who were wanted by the police in different cases including murders, were shifted to Ichhra police lockup.
LAHORE: The Punjab government is all set to increase the number of centres across the province to vaccinate 80,000 people daily.
The facilities are being expanded in the light of the directions issued by the National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) which has given the target to the Punjab government in order to bring a maximum number of people under vaccination coverage to control the virus.
The Punjab government is also starting vaccination of 40-49 age group people from Monday (tomorrow). The registration of this particular age group people has already been started.
It has also imposed smart lockdowns at 15 localities in the city due to rapid increase in the number of Covid cases. The lockdown was imposed in the areas of Gulberg, Garden Town, Shalimar Town, Model Town, DHA, Iqbal Town, Mustafa Town, Santnagar, Rajgarh, Islampura, Sanda and Shah Jamal.
