KARACHI: Dozens of elective surgeries, different medical procedures and radiological interventions are being cancelled or postponed in Karachi and other major cities of the country as a large number of asymptomatic patients are being tested positive for the Covid-19 for last one week as Delta variant of SARS-COV-2 is spreading like wild fire, surgeons and health experts said on Saturday.
They said the ratio of cancellation of elective surgeries and procedures due to patients being tested positive for Covid-19 is between 20 to 50 percent on daily basis, adding they were being asked to get themselves quarantined at least for 10 days, which often results in more miseries and hardships for such patients.
