He d just sent the youngest of his three daughters off to college, and as principal of the Gresham School, he d seen many other students do the same. Seeing the success of Shawano s Dollars for Scholars program, which had been raising money for scholarships for high school graduates pursuing post-secondary education since 1993, he thought Gresham students, too, could benefit from a program like this.

Springbrook Trail made robust progress, with much more in the works

Many Antigonians have watched with approval as the city has made steady progress on the Springbrook Trail. The most functional section may be yet to be built, eventually linking the old heart of the city to the burgeoning residential and business community on the north side. This past year, the Springbrook Trail expansion has been on the prowl toward the north side of the city. An additional one-half mile of paved walkway was established, extending from the existing paved path north to the West Rotary Bridge, then along the eastern boundary of the fairgrounds and west along North Avenue to Charlotte Street.

Chronic child neglect, meth charges lead to cash bonds

Two Antigo individuals are in custody facing serious felony charges involving methamphetamine and child neglect. Joshua J. Turcotte, 32, N4510 Highway H, is charged with six felonies: possession of meth, chronic neglect of a child, second offense THC possession, bail jumping and two counts of child neglect. He also faces four misdemeanor charges: carrying a concealed knife and possessions of controlled substance, illegally obtained prescription and drug paraphernalia. All 10 charges feature a repeat offender enhancement. Turcotte appeared in court Wednesday and was ordered to a $5,000 cash bond with the condition not to use or possess controlled substances illegally. Amanda M.
