Jenn Jenich-Laplander LAURIUM – Aspirus Health has hired Matt Krause, MBA, as chief administrative officer for Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital and Clinics. Beginning Apr. 12, Krause will be responsible for daily operations of the hospital and clinics as well as provide direct oversight and direction for these locations. Krause brings more than 23 years of health care experience to his new role at Aspirus. He began his career working with patients as a radiographer and CT technologist. His skills and knowledge quickly earned him leadership roles, first within radiology and then in overall hospital operations. He comes to Aspirus from OSF St. Francis Hospital and Medical Group in Escanaba where he served as regional director of operations.

Aspirus offering COVID-19 vaccine clinic in Laurium | News, Sports, Jobs

Jennifer Jenich-Laplander LAURIUM – Aspirus Health is offering a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Friday, Apr. 16 from 3 to 6 p.m., at Aspirus Laurium Clinic, 205 Osceola Street. The clinic will offer the Pfizer vaccine, the only COVID-19 vaccine approved for use in teens age 16 and 17. “Now that everyone 16 and up is eligible to receive the vaccine in Michigan, this clinic is a great opportunity for teenagers who are not eligible for other COVID-19 vaccines to get access,” said Kathy Bowman, Director of Clinics for Aspirus. “We re excited to be able to offer the vaccine to this age group and our student- athletes.”

Aspirus Health expanded access to these important services to meet the growing needs of patients. Certified Nurse Midwife Allison Harr, DNP, CNM, is now seeing patients at Aspirus Iron River and Aspirus Ontonagon. “We are excited to offer the highest levels of specialty care close to home,” said Rhonda Buckallew, director of clinics for Aspirus. “Women’s Health is very important for women of all ages, and now they have much quicker access to care no matter what age or stage they might be going through.”
