TEMPE, Ariz. – Individual qualifiers Cairo Leonard-Baker and Hannah Scharf are heading to Fort Worth, Texas, to compete in the NCAA Championships on April 16, representing Sun Devil Gymnastics.
This is the third postseason in a row that Arizona State has had an individual representative at the NCAA Championships, with Leonard-Baker going each of the last two postseasons. Individual qualifiers are the top all-around competitors and the top event specialist on each event from each regional who are not on an advancing team.
Both Scharf and Leonard-Baker will be in the semifinal I. Scharf will rotate with Michigan while Leonard-Baker will be on bars in the third rotation with fellow Pac-12 team Cal. The all-around and individual event champions will be awarded to the individuals with the highest cumulative score during semifinal competition. The top four gymnasts (including ties) are First Team All-Americans and the next four (including ties) are Second Team All

Indiana Jr. Rikkoi Brathwaite made his third successive Big 10 Conference Indoor Championships finals his most memorable one.
Leading from gun to wire, Brathwaite buried the 60m sprint field, by beating defending champion Wasee Williams of Purdue and shattering his 6.58 seconds championships record from 2020, when he stopped the clock at 6.55 seconds, at the Spire Dome in Geneva, Ohio on Saturday. Williams was second in 6.66.
The mark is a new personal best, Indiana School Record, BVI Indoor Record and tied the 14 year-old All Time Big 10 Conference Record established by Wisconsin’s Demi Omole, in 2007. In the process, Brathwaite became the 17

EDNA MILLS, Ind. (WISH) A 41-year-old Clinton County man died Thursday in a head-on crash of his truck and a sport utility vehicle on State Road 26, authorities said.
Clinton County Central Dispatch in Frankfort received a call shortly after 6:10 a.m. Thursday about the crash on State Road 26 near County Road 1000 West. That’s west of the community of Edna Mills in the northwestern portion of the county.
Troy Trent, of Bringhurst, died in the crash. He was driving a 1993 Ford Ranger east on State Road 26 when a westbound 2004 Saturn Vue driven by Kiera Williams, 23, of Lafayette, hit his truck in the eastbound lane. The Vue was attempted to pass another vehicle not involved in the crash.
