APS, park crews work to clean up monsoon mess in Scottsdale
A monsoon ripped through Scottsdale last week and its destruction left a park closed, power lines on top of cars and electricity out for many.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Cleanup and repair efforts are still underway after the
monsoon is still on display after Scottsdale was hit incredibly hard by the storm. We haven’t seen anything like this in quite a few years, one resident said. It is pretty devastating. It will be hard to clean up.

PHOENIX - The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a number of warnings and advisories as monsoon weather makes a return to parts of the Valley.
According to NWS Phoenix s Twitter page, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for parts of Avondale and Goodyear, as well as the Wickenburg area. Those warnings have since expired.
A Flash Flood Warning was issued for the Wickenburg, Vicksburg and Salome areas, but those warnings have also expired.

MESA, Ariz. - Parts of the Valley were hit on July 15 and July 16 by monsoon weather.
In one video taken by Julie Peralta on July 15, heavy rain was falling on a subdivision near Loop 303 and Cactus Road, accompanied by high winds. In another video taken by Dave Givens, hail could be seen in the area of Cactus and Litchfield in Surprise.

Arizona has experienced heavy rain storms throughout the monsoon season and continues to be active. FOX 10 s Stephanie Olmo reports.
PHOENIX - Due to the heavy rainfall and severe storms, Meteorologist Larry Hopper from the National Weather Service says the monsoon season has allowed states to have more of a tropical moisture. We ve had a couple different tropical systems in the East Pacific we actually had that big ridge of high pressure with the anomalous heat in the Pacific Northwest by having that high pressure to our north. It s allowing us to get a lot more tropical moisture, said Hopper.

Mesa, along with other parts of the city, had to deal with rain, wind, and even hail, as a monsoon storm moved over the area during the afternoon hours of July 15. FOX 10 s Irene Snyder reports.
