Active rainfall and storms beats last years monsoon season in Arizona
Monsoon season bringing more precipitation in Arizona compared to last year
Arizona has experienced heavy rain storms throughout the monsoon season and continues to be active. FOX 10's Stephanie Olmo reports.
PHOENIX - Due to the heavy rainfall and severe storms, Meteorologist Larry Hopper from the National Weather Service says the monsoon season has allowed states to have more of a tropical moisture.
"We've had a couple different tropical systems in the East Pacific we actually had that big ridge of high pressure with the anomalous heat in the Pacific Northwest by having that high pressure to our north. It's allowing us to get a lot more tropical moisture," said Hopper.
