According to police, dispatch received a call for the incident at 5:27 p.m. Officers responded to the 700 block of Ashley Avenue, where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are still investigating, and there is no further information. Suffolk Police said the shooting happened sometime around 5:27 p.m. in the 700 block of Ashley Avenue in the Philadelphia neighborhood. Officers found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
