Checking in on open NBA roster spots

San Antonio Spurs The Heat, Timberwolves, Knicks, and Spurs each have 14 players on standard contracts and one opening on their 15-man rosters. They’re all good bets to sign a 15th man before the season ends, either for developmental purposes or for added postseason depth. The Warriors and Trail Blazers have 13 players apiece on standard deals, one on a 10-day contract – Gary Payton II for Golden State and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson for Portland – and one open spot. Hollis-Jefferson’s 10-day pact runs through next Tuesday, while Payton’s goes through Wednesday. Once those deals expire, the Warriors and Blazers will each have up to two weeks to get back to 14 players.

How many Kentucky Wildcats will leave for the 2021 NBA Draft?

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports With the season at its end for the Kentucky Wildcats, be it earlier than usual, that means we can all start the process of “how many players will we lose this season?” earlier as well. One has already decided to leave the program in the form of Cam Fletcher, who has decided to throw his name into the transfer portal. But how many Wildcats are we looking at leaving for the NBA Draft? My answer? Three, possibly four. To start, Isaiah Jackson proved himself as the most pro-ready Wildcat on the team. He’s a freakishly long, athletic big man who grab rebounds and shoot it well from the free-throw line. While he is not the prototypical big man of today’s NBA, his athleticism alone will keep him a main-stay in the league for quite some time.
