A man has been charged after what police have called a possible firearms discharge was reported in Newton Heath.

A man has been charged after a possible firearms discharge was reported to police in Newton Heath on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 19.
Paul Ryan (aged 41), of Ashton Road East, has been charged with possession of a shortened shotgun (Contrary to sections 1(1)(a) and 4(4) and to schedule 6 of the Firearms Act 1968).
He has been remanded in custody and will appear today (Friday) at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.
At around 1.45pm on Tuesday, January 19, police were called to Briscoe Lane, Manchester, to reports of a possible firearms discharge.
