My appointment as MCSN’s director ’ll bring change to copyright sector -Asha Gangali

For showbiz impresario, Fapohunda Asha Gangali, his appointment to the board of Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN) was a move in the right direction.
At its meeting held on March 18, 2021, the MCSN’s General Council received, considered and unanimously approved the appointment of Asha Gangali, Sunny Nneji and Mathew Ohio as members of the collecting society’s board of directors.
Speaking on the development, an excited Gangali says, “my appointment as a director of MCSN alongside Sunny Neji and Mathew Ohio was a move in the right direction. It will usher in a pivotal change in the licensing sector of the entertainment industry.

Showbiz cum business personalities, Sunny Neji, Fapohunda Asha Gangali and Matthew Ohio have been appointed to the board of Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN).
At its meeting held on March 18, 2021, the MCSN’s General Council received, considered and unanimously approved the nominations of the music impresarios as members of the collecting society’s board of directors.
The appointment of Sunny Neji and Asha Gangali follows MCSN’s agreement with the Performing Musicians’ Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), which provides that the music body would have two seats on the board of MCSN. On the other hand, the appointment of Matthew Ohio was based on his wide interest and representations in the music industry upon which MCSN would leverage to increase the quality and quantity of its membership and huge repertoire.

The trio of renowned showbiz and business impresario; Sunny Neji, Fapohunda Asha Gangali and Matthew Ohio have been appointed to the board of the Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN) after the General Council of MCSN at its meeting received, considered and unanimously approved the nominations of the three music personalities as members of the Society’s Board of Directors.
The nominations and appointments of Sunny Neji and Asha Fopohunda (Asha Gangali) were on the basis of MCSN’s agreement with the Performing Musicians’ Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), which provides that PMAN would have two seats on the Board of MCSN while the nomination and appointment of Matthew Ohio was based on Matthew’s wide interests and representations in the music industry upon which MCSN would leverage to increase the quality and quantity of its membership and huge repertoire.

The Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) and Musical Copyright Society Nigeria (MCSN) have agreed to work together to enhance the living standards of Nigerian musicians and other creative people. x
To this end, PMAN and MCSN union signed an agreement to ensure that they work hand in hand to achieve set goals for the music industry and the entertainment industry at large.
At the agreement signing ceremony which took place at the MCSN’s head office in Lagos last week, the President of PMAN, Mr. Pretty Okafor, said that the union decided to give its full support to MCSN because PMAN and the Society have identical goals, which border on the welfare and wellbeing of the musicians.
