+ March 14, 2021 HAD the Vice President not been Leni Robredo, who is not a partymate of the President, I think President Rodrigo Duterte had long resigned out of frustration and disappointment in our political system. Had Bongbong Marcos or Allan Peter Cayetano won the vice presidential race in the 2016 elections, I think Duterte had turned over the presidency to either one of them. In several forums, the President had expressed his disappointment at how things went under his leadership. With so many problems confronting the nation, especially this Covid-19 pandemic, he would have raised his hands and said “surrender.” He failed to curb the illegal drug trade and the massive graft and corruption despite his aggressive campaign to eliminate these social problems. Maybe, his main reason for a resignation would be health problems.

SHOULD she get out of politics, unsa man cge pa ako ani?
Prisca Niña Mabatid could be just teasing in her Monday, March 8, Facebook post, in a daughter-mother dialogue, with her as daughter pouring out her woes as an elected official. Or she could be serious, as most of the facts fit in and there is no hint of a satire, the hashtag summing up her state of mind thus, #sad truth. She might be using the threat to get what she wants.
March 08, 2021 Two weeks ago, former Cebu City Councilor Joey Daluz announced his resignation from Barug, the other half in the coalition that he served as manager in the victorious 2019 campaign. He said he was instead going to reorganize the Panaghiusa, the political party of his mother, Inday Nita.
Over the weekend, another Barug stalwart also disclosed that he was going to revive the political party of his father. City Councilor Raymond Garcia said his decision to reactivate Kusug was a response to the clamor of many political leaders of former city mayor Alvin Garcia, including former and incumbent barangay captains.
