Economic strategy about jobs, not big business says Cannan Cost of KPMG contract not yet revealed
The treasury minister says the development of a future economic strategy is focused on creating jobs, and not on big business.
KPMG has been hired by government to develop a five-to-ten year plan as part of wider, post-Covid recovery programme.
Details of the contract awarded to the Big Four accounting organisation will be made available to Tynwald in the near future .
Alf Cannan says the consultants international experience is needed to develop this plan, but insists views from all quarters will be heard:

The Treasury Minister has confirmed financial package including MERA, Salary Support Scheme and Coronavirus Business Support Scheme will be made available to Island residents and business from tomorrow. The Island will enter a 21-day circuit-break lockdown from 12:01 on Wednesday. It follows a number of unexplained COVID-19 cases identified on the Isle of Man. During today s virtual sitting of the House of Keys - Alf Cannan confirmed an increase in support for the Salary Support Scheme and MERA:
