Students perform in District Honor Band Posted Tuesday, May 11, 2021 10:24 am
Congratulations to the following students who participated in the 2021 Alabama Bandmasters Association District VII Honor Band
Reagan Randall (Oboe), Emily Johnston (Oboe), Eliza Chang (Alto Saxophone), Malcolm Brave (Alto Saxophone).
These students were selected as the finest and top musicians throughout all of southern Alabama. In addition, Eliza Chang was selected as the best alto saxophone player in south Alabama. These students combined with other young musicians throughout our district for an outstanding performance held at Daphne High School’s Trojan Hall.

Ten talented members of Denison High School’s award-winning band have been named Texas Music Scholars, one of the state’s most prestigious awards that recognizes students who are musically and academically gifted, as well as actively involved in their school and community.
Denison’s 2021 esteemed Texas Music Scholars are: David Ariza – 11th grade French Horn, Kayden Bryant – 12th grade Trumpet, Gavin Dunaway – 10th grade Trumpet, Axton Grams – 11th grade Trumpet, Sean Hively, 10th grade Euphonium, Rose Brown – 11th grade Percussion, John Dornstadter – 11th grade Alto Saxophone, Michael Golston – 9th grade Bb Clarinet, Madison Griffis – 9th grade Tenor Trombone, and Luke Sparlin – 11th grade Trumpet.

Hellgate High School musicians pick up rare honor
A pair of Hellgate High School seniors were recently chosen to the All-National Honor Ensemble.

MISSOULA â Not only is it a highly-regarded honor, but it is very difficult to be selected.
But for two Hellgate High School seniors who were recently chosen to the All-National Honor Ensemble, it all comes down to the music.
Cellist Grace Gibson-Snyder and Alto Saxophone player Veronica Stimpfling have gained national recognition thanks to their amazing talent.
âThere are 12 cellists, so Iâm one of 12. Iâm proud of it for sure,â Gibson-Snyder said.
