Around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on Alta Vista Avenue and Copper Hill Drive in Saugus, said Henry Narvaez, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “It was a motorcycle versus a vehicle,” he said. As a result of the crash, one person was transported to the hospital in unknown condition, according to Fire officials. The intersection of Alta Vista and Copper Hill Drive was briefly blocked as crews cleared the crash.

Officers arrived to find copious amounts of fire and smoke emanating from the garage, which was attached to the home, according to KDPS. We’re told that people were inside the home during the fire and that officers quelled the blaze in 15 minutes. No injuries were reported. The fire is currently under investigation. At around 5:45 p.m., fire crews responded to the 2600 block of Alta Vista Avenue and saw heavy fire and smoke coming from an attached garage at the home. The blaze was under control within 15 minutes and investigators remained on scene for about two hours. There’s no word if the fire caused damage inside the home. One of the people who lived there told WWMT they heard a loud popping sound in the garage before the fire. The others were not home at the time of the fire.
