Two firefighters injured in Monday warehouse blaze

Two firefighters from the Fairbanks Fire DepartmentÂ received minor injuries during Monday s warehouse fire in South Fairbanks.Â The firefighters were treated at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and are expected to recover quickly, according toÂ a Tuesday news release from the city of Fairbanks.Â Besides the two firefighters, no one was hurt. The firefighters are feelingÂ OK, and the chief expects them back to work in a week, Teal Soden, communications director for the city, wrote in an email to the News-Miner.Â The fire started at C&R Pipe and Steel on Alta Way at approximately 3.30 p.m. Monday. Emergency crews responded within 6 minutes, put the fire out by approximately 7:54 p.m., and stayed on scene to take care of hot spots until 10:22 p.m.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Multiple fire departments are currently on the scene of a structure fire located in a building owned by C & R Pipe on Alta Way, near South Cushman Street in Fairbanks. According to reporter John Dougherty, who is currently on scene, there are no injuries and everyone made it out of the building safely. The building is expected to be a total loss and was filled with tools, fabrication equipment, and fabrication projects that were currently in-progress. Officials do not know as of yet what started the fire, the building is covered by fire insurance.
