Sal Jasso, of the city of Decatur’s Revenue Department, recommended that the city grant the restaurant’s request on Monday. The City Council approved the alcohol license after holding the required public hearing. Councilman Carlton McMasters joked at a recent council work session, “Do you drink white or red wine with chicken and dumplings?” Jasso said that, once the council approves an alcohol license, he notifies the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board’s Huntsville office.
