The #84 Atlanta Speedwerks, which started its fifth IMSA MPC weekend in succession from the front row of the grid, lost track position at the very start of the race, but an impressive fightback by Brian Henderson during his opening stint, plus issues for nearest rival Bryan Herta Autosport w/ Curb-Agajanian meant the #84 Honda Civic Type-R was comfortably in the lead following the first round of pit stops.

Tim Lewis Jr added to TCR South America entry

Tim Lewis Jr has become the latest driver added to the grid for the inaugural TCR South America season.
The American racer will join PropCar Racing, and will be at the wheel of an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce similar to the one he races in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.
Lewis Jr will share the car with Roy Block for the endurance races at Curitiba and in Argentina, meaning the pair once again join forces having been partners in both the IMSA series, and in TC America with the KMW Motorsports team.

Roy Block has become the latest driver to sign up to compete in the inaugural season of TCR South America.
The Argentinian racer has spent recent seasons competing in TC America, and took a best finish of second last season en-route to fourth in the championship standings.
This season, Block is competing in the IMSA Pilot Challenge but failed to finish the season opener at Daytona International Speedway when the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce he shares with Tim Lewis Jr was involved in a multi-car incident whilst dicing for a place on the TCR class podium.
