Bramley-Moore Dock stadium takes significant step forward Lyndon Lloyd Monday, 15 February, 2021 Liverpool City Council will meet next week to determine the fate of Everton s proposed new stadium on Liverpool s north docks after their Planning Officer recommended that the project be approved. It means that the club s plans for Bramley-Moore Dock could imminently get the green light and enable them to start construction on the 52,888-seater ground this summer. LCC have scheduled a hearing to decide on Everton s detailed planning application for both the dockside stadium and their plans for a legacy project at their current home at Goodison Park for Tuesday, 23 February.

LOCATION: Swan Hotel turn off on A590 Readers have reacted after it was announced that a £150,000 scheme aims to improve safety on a stretch of the A590. Work is set to start next month to stop vehicles turning right onto the A590 from the bridge at the Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge. County councillor Sue Sanderson said she had been working to sort this dangerous situation for around six years as drivers in cars turning often find themselves stranded on a bend. Work is due to start on or shortly after February 8 for approximately three weeks and will take place overnight on weekdays only.
