LifeBridge and NAACP Partner to Distribute Free Food to Families on MLK Day Written by LifeBridge Community Services Free Food Box Distribution LifeBridge and the Greater Bridgeport Branch NAACP share in the belief of unlimited human potential and the vision of Bridgeport youth and families living in a community made stronger by neighbor helping neighbor as each of the organizations works to lift people up. In the spirit of seeking equal justice and a better, more just world for all people, the two organizations will join in solidarity and mutual support of the community to lead by example. This year in recognition of Martin Luther King Day, the Greater Bridgeport Branch NAACP and LifeBridge will partner in a traditional day of service to distribute food to those most in need in our community with the hope that they will never have to be in need again.

What many didn’t know was the $1.65 million raised that day would help these organizations weather the storm looming ahead.

Written by LifeBridge Community Services Senator Marilyn Moore Lends Support to LifeBridge  Take the Cill out of Winter Coat Distribution In an effort to “Take the Chill Out of Winter,” LifeBridge Community Services will distribute warm winter apparel to the many families it serves with help from Senator Marilyn Moore. New and gently used coats and other winter gear will be given away to LifeBridge clients on Tuesday, December 15 and Wednesday, December 16 at their Bridgeport headquarters located at 475 Clinton Avenue. “We are relaunching our Community Closet operation which was impacted by the COVID-19 crisis,” said LifeBridge President & CEO Alan Mathis. “We wanted to be sure that the families we continue to serve through the Diaper Bank, Urban Scholars, Behavioral Health and other programs have what they need to stay warm this winter. It’s been a tough year and many of those we serve are struggling right now.”
