SHERRARD, Ill. The Sherrard School District is starting the school year in three weeks without a COVID plan from the state.
We re trying to be patient with them but, yes we are frustrated. We need information so that we can get a plan in place,” said Alan Boucher, Sherrard School District Superintendent.
Boucher says that he hasn’t received any guidance on what requirements students and staff will follow this upcoming school year.

SHERRARD, Ill. The end of this week feels like the beginning of a new chapter for Sherrard teachers and staffers. 170 faculty members received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine, like special education teacher Vanessa Schulenberg, who says she usually doesn t do too well with needles. I m relieved to have that done and out of the way, Schulenberg says. I didn t have any trouble with this. I didn t even feel it which was a relief.
She s getting the shot to protect her newborn at home and her students in the classroom.
