Du Beke and Pernice will be dancing at The Lighthouse in July. The Him and Me! tour is directed by Alan Burkitt, who previously choreographed Strictly Come Dancing, So You Think You Can Dance? and the Fascinating Aida UK tour. A show for people of all ages, the dynamic duo will be joined by a world class cast of dancers and singers. Du Beke joined upon its launch in 2003 and since then has been partnered with the likes of sporting coach Judy Murray and supermodel Jerry Hall, and first reached the final with newscaster Katie Derham in 2015. Giovanni Pernice joined Du Beke on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015, quickly making his mark by reaching the final with actress Georgia May Foote in his first series.

Winter Gardens in Blackpool is certainly a versatile venue – BBC Television’s
Strictly Come Dancing, usually filmed at Elstree Studios, goes up to Blackpool for an episode each year (except, of course, when there’s a global pandemic going on), and it is the host venue of the Blackpool Dance Festival and the World Matchplay darts tournament. Previously home to various political party conferences, which now largely take place in even larger venues, the venue continues to move with the times: it is, at the time of writing, a Covid-19 vaccination centre.
