Former Syracuse forward Robert Braswell, who emerged as an offensive spark and defensive option off the bench this past season, has reportedly transferred to Charlotte, according to Rivals.com. He entered the transfer portal on March 29 after averaging 3.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in his redshirt sophomore season with the Orange.
Braswell played more than 20 minutes in four of Syracuse’s final five games after reaching that threshold just once before that point when he set career-highs with 12 points and four made 3-pointers against Pittsburgh on Jan. 6. CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) - After investigation into the massive fire that destroyed the Paradise Cove condominium complex, Carolina Beach Fire Chief Alan Griffin released a statement that does not provide conclusive evidence of the cause of the fire, but indicates it started in an outdoor common area.
“Investigators currently have no data to support an intentionally set fire, mechanical failure, or any building feature that would have contributed to the start of the fire.”
While there hasn’t been an official ruling on the cause of the fire that destroyed a building in the Paradise Cove Condominium community on April 2, the Carolina Beach Fire Department knows more about how and where it started.
“The investigators have determined the location where the fire started was a common area where building occupants went to smoke,” said Fire Chief Alan Griffin in a news release.
He added that there was currently no indication that the fire that destroyed 619 Spencer Farrow Drive, and displaced the residents who lived in the 12 units there, was intentionally set or a result of mechanical/building failure.

Newton, the former Syracuse forward who played sparingly, announced he’s transferring to Oklahoma State. The 6-foot-8 freshman appeared in 11 games for SU, but impressed with a smooth shooting stroke.
Originally from Baltimore, Newton became a three-star high school prospect at Mt. Zion Prep. He originally chose the Orange over offers from Georgetown, Cincinnati, Arkansas and Kansas State. Now he’ll join the Big 12.
Early in the season, Newton impressed by scoring nine points against Niagara, Rider and Boston College. He shot 38.9% from 3 through 11 total games.
