Report says expansion of infrastructure to extract energy from water held and warmed in UK mines could play a significant role to power heat pumps and district heat systems
Authorities in the UK should step up support for using energy derived from mine sites across the UK as a source of low carbon heat, according to a new industry-backed white paper.
Findings jointly published by the Mine Energy Taskforce and the government-funded ‘energy hubs’ investment project have called for the scaling-up of work to extract geothermal-heated water from mines to support the UK’s net zero ambitions.

REFERENDUM
The Board of Finance has approved the 2021-2022 Municipal Budget scheduled for
referendum May 5th, 2021. The budget represents a 3.76% decrease in municipal spending and does not defer any capital projects or decrease any departmental budgets.
